Updated Opt-In Confirmation Message for Partner Integrations

Beginning October 15th, 2026, subscribers who opt in to your SMS list through a partner integration will receive an updated opt-in confirmation message. The new message adds compliance language that makes these subscribers AI eligible, and there’s nothing you need to do. In this article, we walk through what’s changing and what it means for you.

What’s changing

When someone opts in through a partner integration, Postscript previously asked them to reply Y to confirm their opt-in. Once they reply, they’ve successfully subscribed. Starting October 15, the Reply Y message will be updated to include:

  • Your terms of service, including arbitration

  • A disclosure that messages may include AI content

  • HELP and STOP instructions

  • A link to your privacy policy

Previous message:

"{shop_name}: Reply Y to subscribe to recurring automated promotional msgs (e.g. cart reminders). Msg & data rates may apply."

New message:

"{shop_name}: Reply Y to subscribe to recurring auto-dialed marketing SMS (including cart reminders; AI content; artificial or prerecorded voices) and our TERMS OF SERVICE [link] (including arbitration). Consent is not required to purchase. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply HELP for help; STOP to opt-out. View PRIVACY POLICY [link]."

NOTE: This only changes the confirmation message, not any additional subscriber messages.

How this benefits you

  • Subscribers who opt in through a partner integration from October 15 onward are AI eligible, so you can send AI-powered messages to more of your audience.

  • Partner integration opt-ins now meet Postscript's highest consent standard, with the same compliance protections as our native opt-in methods.

Things to know

  • The new opt-in message runs up to 3 SMS segments. This message only goes out once per subscriber when they opt in.

  • Anyone who opted in before October 15 keeps their current eligibility status. This change doesn’t affect AI eligibility for past opt-ins.

  • If a partner integration shows a Postscript popup, those opt-ins aren’t affected. They already follow Postscript’s popup consent flow.

  • For the smoothest, most compliant opt-in experience, we recommend using Postscript-native opt-in methods or tools built to work directly with Postscript, like Alia and Shoptin (both of which support Onsite Opt-in and thus don’t need a this added message).

Common questions

Do I need to do anything to make sure the subscribers I collect through third party integrations are AI eligible?

No. This change happens on Postscript’s side. We do recommend making sure your Terms of Service and Privacy Policy links are up to date.

Will this change my other messages?

No. Only the one-time confirmation text changes.

Are my existing subscribers now AI eligible?

Only subscribers that opt in through a form with AI consent language are eligible to receive AI-powered messages. With this change, any new subscribers who opt in to your list through a partner integration starting October 15th are AI-eligible. This does not impact existing subscribers who have not opted in through a form with AI-consent language.
