This year, we're deprecating three legacy features in Postscript: Legacy Popups, Legacy Campaigns (Standard), and Legacy Automations. Each one already has a newer, better-supported version live in Postscript today, and that's where you'll build and manage these going forward.
This article covers what's changing, the dates that matter, and what you need to do. In most cases, the path forward is a single click.
What's changing, at a glance
Feature | Key date | What happens | Your Action |
Legacy Popups | Aug 14, 2026 (freeze) | Active legacy popups are auto-migrated to our new popup editor. Inactive popups become read-only. | Migrate yourself in one click so you can review before they go live (recommended) |
Legacy Campaigns (Standard) | Aug 14, 2026 (freeze) | You can no longer send legacy campaigns. Drafts campaigns will be deleted and scheduled sends will become read-only. | Send or rebuild anything pending in Campaign Flows before Aug 14. |
Legacy Automations | Sep 30, 2026 (deprecation) | Legacy automations stop running and will become read-only. | One click for native automations.
More information below on partner automations. |
All three | 2027 (complete removal from platform) | Read-only access ends. Legacy popups, campaigns, and automations, plus all data and analytics, are permanently removed from the app. | Export any reports or data you want to keep before this date. |
Legacy Popups
Freeze date: August 14, 2026
On August 14, your active legacy popups (including Back in Stock) will be automatically migrated to our new, upgraded popup experience.
We recommend migrating your popups yourself before August 14. When you migrate, you can preview your active popups in the new editor and fine-tune anything before it goes live. We do our best to recreate everything exactly, but we can't guarantee every popup transfers 1:1, so doing it yourself is the surest way to land them the way you want.
A one-click migration tool is available now. By clicking Upgrade popups, you can migrate all popups at once, then review them in the New Popup Editor.
If you don't migrate before August 14, your active popups (including Back in Stock) will be auto-migrated for you. We still recommend reviewing them in the new editor afterward, since some elements may need a quick adjustment.
Any inactive popups move to read-only. You'll still be able to view them and their data through 2027, so you have time to export performance and recreate any popups you want to keep.
What to use instead: The New Popup Editor. Migrated popups will be recreated there automatically, and it's where you'll create and manage all popups going forward.
For more information, see this article → Create a Mobile or Desktop Popup in Postscript's New Popup Editor.
Legacy Campaigns (Standard)
Freeze date: August 14, 2026
After August 14, you'll no longer be able to send Legacy Campaigns. Just as important: any draft campaigns will not carry over. Scheduled campaigns will become read-only, meaning they will be sent, but they cannot be edited. Anything pending needs to be sent, or rebuilt, before the freeze date. Going forward, you can send Basic Campaigns or build them as campaign flows in Flow Builder.
Legacy Campaigns will remain read-only until 2027, so your past campaigns and reporting remain available for reference and export up to that point.
What to use instead: Basic Campaigns, the supported way to send campaigns in Postscript going forward. For more information, see this article → Basic Campaigns.
Legacy Automations
Deprecation date: September 30, 2026
Your path depends on how your legacy automations are set up.
If any of your legacy automation flows use a native Postscript trigger (such as Subscriber Created, Order Created, etc.), migration is one click. Select Migrate to Flow Builder in the upper-right corner, then choose the automations you'd like to migrate.
If any of your legacy automation flows use a trigger related to the following partners — Malomo, Wonderment, Okendo, Junip, Smartrr, Growave, CheckoutChamp, Repeat, or Justuno — your path depends on your partner completing their migration first. No action is needed from you right now. Once your partner has migrated, we'll reach out with next steps for your account.
After September 30, 2026, Legacy Automations will remain read-only until 2027.
What to use instead: Flow Builder, where you'll build and run automations going forward.
What to use instead
You're not losing functionality. Each legacy feature has a newer, better-supported replacement with even more features and capabilities:
Legacy Popups → the New Popup Editor.
Legacy Campaigns (Standard) → Basic Campaigns or Campaign Flows.
Legacy Automations → Automation Flows.

Common Questions
Do I have to do anything right now?
Do I have to do anything right now?
A few things we recommend doing ahead of time:
We recommend migrating your popups yourself rather than waiting for the auto-migration. Migrating now lets you preview each popup in the New Popup Editor and adjust anything before it goes live.
Send or rebuild any pending Legacy Campaigns before August 14
Export any legacy reports you want to keep before 2027.
Why should I migrate my popups myself instead of waiting for auto-migration?

If you do wait for auto-migration, we recommend reviewing your popups in the new editor afterward in case anything needs a quick adjustment.
Will I lose my historical data?
Will I lose my historical data?
Not until 2027. Until then, legacy popups, campaigns, and automations remain viewable in read-only mode. After that date, legacy data and analytics are permanently removed from the app, so export anything important beforehand.
What happens to my drafts and scheduled Legacy Campaigns?
What happens to my drafts and scheduled Legacy Campaigns?
They do not carry over after the August 14 freeze. Send them before then, or rebuild them in Basic Campaigns.
My automations use a partner integration. What do I do?
My automations use a partner integration. What do I do?
Nothing yet. Your migration depends on your partner moving first. Once they've migrated, we'll reach out with the next steps for your account.
Where can I see my migrated popups?
Where can I see my migrated popups?
In the New Popup Editor. Anything active on August 14 will already be there, and it's worth a quick review to make sure each popup looks the way you want.
