Dynamic Hosted Messaging Terms and Messaging Privacy Policy allow you to backlink to Postscript's hosted dynamic terms and privacy policy. This allows you to:
- Stay compliant in an ever-changing compliance climate. After you set it up once, your Messaging Terms and Messaging Privacy Policy will be automatically updated by Postscript as Carrier and TCPA compliance requirements and changes are rolled out.
- Have evergreen compliant web pages for both messaging terms and privacy policy reducing your legal risk (bonus: without any manual intervention on your part).
- Implement a worry-free and hassle-free messaging terms and privacy policy solution so you can focus more of your time and energy on improving your SMS strategy and your Subscriber LTV.
Set Up Dynamic Hosted Messaging Terms and Messaging Privacy Policy
-
If you installed Postscript before April 5th, 2022, no action is needed at this time.
- However, if you would like to add this feature to your shop, please reach out to our support team or your Customer Success Manager. Our team is happy to help!
- If you installed Postscript on or after April 5th, 2022: In the “Compliance” section of your onboarding flow when you installed Postscript, you were prompted to copy and paste the dynamic links into your Shopify Shop Terms of Service and Shopify Shop Privacy Policy sections. These dynamic links host Postscript’s Dynamic Hosted Messaging Terms and Messaging Privacy Policy language.
Edit Fields in Your Terms and Privacy Policy
Within your Shop Settings, you can find and edit shop-specific details that populate in the Dynamic Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. These fields are pre-populated with Shopify data by default.
- From your Postscript Dashboard, select your shop name on the left-side navigation panel.
- Under your Shop Settings, select the Compliance tab.
- Under Billing address, you can edit your shop's billing address details.
- Once you configure your settings, save by selecting the Save Changes button.
- These fields will not be updated in your Dynamic Hosted Messaging Terms of Service & Messaging Privacy Policy.
Notify Subscribers of Changes to Your Terms or Privacy Policy
As the SMS landscape changes, Postscript will notify you of changes and automatically update your Dynamic Messaging Terms of Service and Messaging Privacy Policy so you can remain compliant and reduce risk to frivolous lawsuits.
So that all updates are applicable to your current subscriber base, consider taking steps to inform subscribers when changes have been made to the Messaging Terms & Conditions or Messaging Privacy Policy. You may opt for one of the following ways to notify your subscribers:
- Send your list an SMS campaign that includes a link to your updated messaging terms or updated messaging privacy policy.
- Add a banner on your website with a link to your Terms or Privacy Policy.
- Email your subscriber base with a link to your updated terms or privacy policy.
By notifying your customers of changes to your Terms or Privacy Policy, you can protect your business while promoting trust and transparency with subscribers.
Before You Go
- Dynamic Hosted Messaging Terms and Messaging Privacy Policy do not replace your existing Shop Terms and Privacy Policy. Rather, they are added to your existing Shop Terms and Privacy Policy language.
- We highly recommend using our dynamic hosted links to guarantee your messaging terms and privacy policy are always up-to-date. However, if you choose not to use them, you can select the "I Prefer to update and maintain my own Messaging Terms and Conditions and Messaging Privacy Policy" option during the onboarding process. You will then be prompted to agree to maintain compliant Messaging Terms and Messaging Privacy Policy manually.
