What is a Subscriber vs. a Customer?

Both in Postscript and in the Help Center, you'll see references to Subscriber and Customer. It's important to understand how Postscript defines each before you start creating segments, campaigns, and/or automations.

Subscriber Customer
An individual who has opted-in to SMS marketing messages from your shop using their phone number. A subscriber who has made one or more purchases from your shop.

The key distinction here is whether a subscriber has made a purchase from your shop. For this reason, a subscriber can be a customer.

Targeting subscribers who have made a purchase versus those who haven't is a popular strategy for shops using Postscript and is something you'll be introduced to as you create campaign segments and advanced automation targeting.
