Deactivate Your Postscript Account

If you wish to pause your Postscript plan for a period of time, you can do so without losing message drafts, customized popups, and other account information.

We walk through how to pause your account so your SMS program isn't actively accruing usage charges by collecting subscribers or sending messages during your break.

In this guide, we describe how to deactivate a Postscript account for shops on usage billing and shops on legacy credits.

Usage Billing: Pause Postscript

In order to successfully deactivate your Postscript account, please ensure you deactivate or delete the following tools: automations, popups, keywords, landing pages, SMS collection at checkout. We disucss all of this in detail below. Any usage accrued during the month before deactivating any messaging tools will be charged on one final bill on the 1st of the following month.

Automations, both legacy and automation flows

From your Postscript dashboard, navigate to Messaging. Select Automations. Under the Automation Flows tab, you can filter your view by Activated flows to easily identify every flow that needs to be deactivated.

Under Legacy Automation, you can identify which flows are active by navigating to the Active column. Any toggle bar in green and with a circled checkmark is currently active and enrolling qualified subscribers. To deactivate these automations, select the toggle bar. A deactivated automation will have a grey toggle bar with a circled "X".

Popups

From your Postscript Dashboard, select Acquisition to navigate to your Popups page. Similar to legacy automations, you can identify which popups are active and deactivated by looking at the toggle bars under the Active column. Any toggle bar in green and with a circled checkmark is currently active and collecting subscribers. To deactivate these popups, select the toggle bar. A deactivated popup will have a grey toggle bar with a circled "X".

Be sure to deactivate both mobile and desktop popups.

Landing pages

From your Postscript Dashboard, select Acquisition, then select List Growth Tools. Select Get Started next to either Convert your email list or Share your opt-in link. Choose a keyword that you used to create a landing page. Under the second card Create a Shopify Page, select Delete page.

Be sure to do this for all active landing pages.

From your Postscript Dashboard, select Acquisition, then select Keywords. You can filter your view by Active keywords to easily identify every keyword that needs to be deactivated. To deactivate these keywords, select the toggle bar. A deactivated keyword will have a grey toggle bar with a circled "X".
