Postscript popups are a powerful tool for SMS messaging and subscriber collection, but there are times when they may not display as expected. This guide provides an overview of common reasons for popup display issues and steps to resolve them.
Are you cookied? Our popups don't show for cookied visitors. Try viewing your shop in an incognito or private browsing window.
Is your popup set up to only show on specific pages? Check out your Popups page and see what's entered in the Includes and Excludes fields.
Are you a headless shop? Headless shops are those stores whose frontend is hosted somewhere other than Shopify. For these shops, Postscript's SDK must be added to your shop's code in order for the popup to appear. Learn more here.
Delay and Cooldown Settings: Popups may be configured with delay and cooldown settings (e.g., a 7-second delay or a 20-second cooldown). These settings control when the popup appears after a user lands on the page. Ensure these settings align with your expectations and test accordingly.
Browser Cache: Cached data can prevent popups from appearing as expected. Clear your browser cache and test again.
Network Conditions: Slow or unstable network connections can introduce delays in popup display. Test on multiple browsers and devices to rule out network-related issues.
If you've tried the above steps and your popup still doesn't appear, reach out to our support team for assistance! You can quickly chat with them by selecting the blue Chat button in the bottom-right corner of your Postscript dashboard.
