Why are message tags and links not populating correctly in my test message?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Answer

Postscript message tags are dynamic, meaning they populate based on information unique to the customer. Since test messages aren't tied to a customer, they will sometimes display the tag placeholder in the test message.

For example, browse abandonment automations are triggered by a subscriber's browsing session. Any tags included in the message, such as {last_product_url_viewed}, will display as the placeholder text in your test message because the test message was not triggered by a browsing session.
