Using Klaviyo Email and Click Activity to Create Segments and User Filters – Postscript

You can now create Postscript segments and user filters using Klaviyo activity. Specifically, you can now use SMS to reach out to subscribers who have received a particular Klaviyo email as well as subscribers who have clicked any links within any email.

What This Mean For Your Shop

Target subscribers who received a specific Klaviyo email using a segment or automation user filter.
Target and follow up with subscribers who clicked on any link included in a Klaviyo email.
Pair these click activities with any other Postscript segment criteria and/or automation user filters.

What You Need to Get Started

You will need an active Klaviyo integration in order to share information between Postscript and Klaviyo.
Postscript needs an email address for a subscriber in order to match it to a Klaviyo profile and sync Klaviyo activity. Postscript collects emails during abandoned and completed checkouts, but you can also enable your Postscript popups to collect email.

Create a Segment or Automation Filter

Select Messaging in the side menu of your Postscript dashboard, then select Segments.
Select Create Segment in the top-right corner of the page.
Select your desired Segment Criteria from the drop-down.
- Subscriber Clicked Klaviyo Email. Targets subscribers who have clicked on any link in a specific Klaviyo email.
- Subscriber Received Klaviyo Email. Target subscribers who have received a specific Klaviyo email.
Choose the specific email from the Select drop-down.
If desired, you can change the refinement criteria from the default Includes to Does Not Include.
Select Save Segment.

Tip: You can add multiple criteria to a segment. For example, if you wanted to target subscribers who clicked a link in any of your last five Klaviyo emails, you would add each email using the Subscriber Clicked Klaviyo Email option and join each using the OR button. Select Messaging in the side menu of your Postscript dashboard, then select Automations.
Select Create Automation in the top-right corner of the page.
Select Custom Automation.
From the User Filter drop-down, select Yes.
- Choose your desired user filter.
  - Subscriber Clicked Klaviyo Email. Targets subscribers who have clicked on any link in a specific Klaviyo email.
  - Subscriber Received Klaviyo Email. Target subscribers who have received a specific Klaviyo email.
- Choose the specific email from the Select drop-down.
- If desired, you can change the refinement criteria from the default Includes to Does Not Include.
Select Save & Continue to Message.

Tip: You can add multiple user filters to an automation. For example, if you wanted to put subscribers who clicked a link in specific Klaviyo emails in an educational automation series, you would add each email using the Subscriber Clicked Klaviyo Email option and join each using the OR button.
