Onsite Opt-in Engage

Upcoming changes to iOS make it more important than ever for brands to ensure their SMS messages show up in subscribers' Known Sender inboxes. Onsite Opt-in Engage is a new feature from Postscript for merchants to mitigate this issue.

What is Onsite Opt-in Engage?

Onsite Opt-in Engage offers a faster path to Known Sender inbox placement. When visitors enter their info, Postscript sends the verification code, rather than your brand. This lets subscribers message brands first, so future texts land in their inbox instead of their Unknown Sender folder.

What is the subscriber experience?

  1. Website visitor is prompted to enter their email address into your popup and select Submit.
  2. The visitor is then prompted to enter their phone number and select Submit.
  3. The visitor is sent a one-time password from Postscript that they can single-tap to enter in the prompt and can then select Submit.

  4. Upon selecting “Submit” the new subscriber is then taken to their messaging app and prompted to send a pre-populated SMS message to your brand, ensuring all future messages from your brand land in the Known Senders inbox.
  5. After sending the initial message, the subscriber receives your compliance message and welcome series. If the subscriber does not send the pre-populated message within 20 seconds, the compliance and welcome series still execute (although those messages may not show up in the Known Senders inbox).
If subscribers don't send the pre-filled message: Your brand's compliance, welcome messages, and subsequent messages may be filtered to the Unknown Sender folder until the subscriber replies.
