Set Up Your Seguno Integration

Who gets this? Shops on Professional Postscript plans and above have access to this integration. Learn more about Postscript Plans.

Postscript integrates with Seguno, allowing you to share subscriber information between the two solutions. With our Seguno integration, you can forward SMS subscribers collected with Seguno popups to Postscript.

Create a Postscript API Key

  1. Select your Shop Name in the side menu of your Postscript dashboard, then select API.
  2. Select Create Security Key Pair on the right side of the page, then confirm your action by selecting Yes.
  3. Add a label to your API key so you can track where this API key is being used.
  4. Select Show in the Private Key column to reveal your API key. Copy this key or write it down—you'll need to enter it in Seguno later.

Create a Postscript Keyword

To properly configure Postscript in Seguno, you'll need to generate a keyword that you'll enter into Seguno later. In this section, we'll walk you through how to create a keyword

Compliance Language Requirements

When collecting subscribers, the TCPA requires you to include necessary compliance language that informs visitors that they are opting into SMS messaging from your store. This language needs to appear beneath your call to action (e.g., a dynamic button or Text "DOGGONE" to 54631). Here's the TCPA-approved compliance language:

*By providing your phone number, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages (e.g. cart reminders) from this shop and third parties acting on its behalf. Consent is not a condition to obtain goods or services. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply HELP for help and STOP to cancel. You also agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Note: In order to collect subscribers compliantly, your shop's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy need to be hyperlinked in the language shown above. If they cannot be hyperlinked, the full URLs of each need to be included so a viewer may search your terms or privacy policy if needed.

For example, "You also agree to the Terms of Service (https:/myshop.com/terms-of-service/) and Privacy Policy (https://myshop.com/privacy-policy/).”

Syncing Data Between Postscript and Seguno

When a contact is captured through a popup or form, Seguno will attempt to subscribe to their phone number in Postscript. If that phone number is already opted into a keyword for your shop, the connection will update that subscriber with tags and properties collected from the popup. If the phone number has not opted into a keyword, that subscriber will receive a text to confirm the SMS subscription to your shop.

Emails subscriber tags. When an email is captured through a Postscript popup, Seguno will create the customer in Shopify and subscribe them to marketing emails. If the email is already in Shopify, the email will be updated and the customer will be marked as subscribed.

When a new email is captured, the customer will be tagged with “postscript-connection” in Shopify. If the email is already in Shopify, Seguno will apply the “postscript-connection” tag.

Subscriber tags. Whether creating or updating a subscriber in Postscript, the default tag "seguno-popups" will be added to the customer in Shopify and Postscript subscriber details. Additional tags configured on the popup or gathered from selected choice list items are also added.

Subscriber properties. Additional subscriber properties, including first name, last name, and birthdate, are sent to Postscript if that information was provided in the popup. Initial field mappings are consistent with Postscript's reserved property names.

To edit the field mappings:

  1. From your Seguno dashboard, navigate to the Connections card on the right-hand side.
  2. From the Connections card, under the Postscript SMS Marketing connection, select Edit.
  3. Enter the new custom field ID, then select Save.
