Postscript integrates with Junip, allowing you to share information between the two solutions. Junip offers brands an easy-to-use way to collect and display customer reviews. With Junip, brands can showcase reviews and user-generated content to build trust with current and potential customers. With our Junip integration, you can:

  • Easily send review requests with Postscript automations and personalize with customer name, ordered products, and review link.
  • Build trust with genuine, in-depth reviews that leverage photos, videos, and custom questions.
  • Create a dedicated reviews page and on-site sections to display product and site reviews.

In this article, we'll guide you through how to set up Junip, describe each trigger, and show how to create a Junip-specific automation.

Create a Postscript API Key


  1. Select your Shop Name in the side menu of your Postscript dashboard, then select API.
  2. Select Create Security Key Pair on the right side of the page, then confirm your action by selecting Yes.
  3. Select Show in the Private Key column to reveal your API key. Copy this key or write it down—you'll need to enter it in Junip later.

Configure Postscript in Junip

  1. Select Integrations in side menu of your Junip dashboard.
  2. Locate and select Postscript.
  3. Select the Install button in the bottom-right corner of the page.
  4. Enter the API Key you copied from Postscript.
  5. Select Install.

Create a Junip Review Request Automation

  1. Select Messaging in the side menu of your Postscript dashboard, then select Automations.
  2. Select Create Automation in the top-right corner of the page and choose Create Legacy Automation.
  3. Choose Custom Animation from the template gallery.
  4. Name your new automation. 
  5. From the Automation Trigger drop-down, select Junip: Review Requested.
  6. Under Cancellation Trigger, select Yes.
  7. From the Cancel automation if drop-down, select Junip: Review Submitted.
  8. Select Save & Continue to Messages in the bottom-right corner of the page.

Customize Your Junip Review Request Message


You can customize your message with a photo, GIF, and/or emojis. Don't forget to include a review link.

  1. To add the review URL to your message, select the blue More button above the message field.
  2. Then select Add Tag from the options listed.
  3. You can choose from Order Review URLSecond Line Item Review URL or First Line Item Review URL.
  4. Be sure to place your typing cursor where you want the tag to go in the message, then select Insert Tag.
  5. Postscript will shorten the link for you once the message is sent to subscribers.

Understanding Junip Message Tags


In this section, we'll describe the merge tags avialable with each trigger.

Order Event

These merge tags are available with the Junip: Review request and Junip: Review request by campaign triggers.

Merge Tag / Variable Definition
{first_name} The first name of the customer that placed the order.
{last_name} The last name of the customer that placed the order.
{order_line_item_1_name} The name of the first line item in the order.
{order_line_item_1_review_url} A URL that allows customer to leave a review specifically for the first line item.
{order_line_item_2_name} The name of the second line item in the order.
{order_line_item_2_review_url} A URL that allows customer to leave a review specifically for the second line item.
{order_review_url} A URL that allows customer to leave a review for any products in the order.

Review Event

These merge tags are available with the Junip: Review submitted and Junip: Review confirmation required triggers.

Merge Tag / Variable Definition
{first_name} The first name of the customer that wrote the review.
{last_name} The last name of the customer that wrote the review.
{review_body} the main content of the review.
{review_rating} The rating of the review out of five.
{review_state} The state of the review (pending, approved, or rejected).
{review_title} The title of the review.
{review_target_title} The target of the review, either the store name or the product name + variant information.
{review_has_media}
Whether there was a picture of video submitted with the video (true or false).
{product_id} The ID of the product the review was left on.
{product_title} The title of the product the review was left on.

Review Reward

These merge tags are available if there is a reward associated with the review.

Merge Tag / Variable Definition
{reward_code} The discount code
{reward_name} The reward's description (e.g., "Free Shipping!" or "10% off")
{review_lowercase_name} An all lowercase version of the reward's description
(store_URL} The URL of the store the reward is for
