You can add a Create Calendar Event action to your RCS messages to let subscribers save important events directly to their phone’s calendar.
This is a great way to remind customers about upcoming moments like product launches, flash sales, live shopping events, or VIP access windows.
When a subscriber taps the button in your message, their device will open a pre-filled calendar event that they can save with one tap.
How to Add a Calendar Event to an RCS Message
Go to Flow Builder.
Add or open an RCS message in your flow.
In the message editor, navigate to Suggested Actions.
Select Add Action and select Create Calendar Event as the action type.
Fill out the event details.
Required fields:
Button label – The text subscribers will tap (max 25 characters)
Event title – Name of the event (max 100 characters)
Start date & time
End date & time
Timezone
Optional field:
Event description – Additional details about the event (max 500 characters)
Select Save
Your RCS message will now include a calendar event button that subscribers can tap to save the event.
What Subscribers See
When a subscriber taps the calendar event button, their device opens a pre-filled calendar entry with:
The event title
Event date and time
Timezone
Description (if included)
They can then save the event directly to their calendar.
Fallback Message Behavior
If a subscriber cannot receive RCS messages, they will receive your fallback SMS message instead.
To help simplify setup, the calendar event details are automatically added to the fallback message, so you don’t need to manually re-enter the event information. You can still edit the fallback message if you'd like.
Best Practices
Calendar events work best for time-sensitive campaigns, such as:
Product drops or collection launches
Flash sales or major promotions
Live shopping or livestream events
VIP early-access windows
Shipping cutoff reminders
Including a calendar event makes it easier for subscribers to remember and return at the right time.
Things to Know
The event time is set when you create the action and cannot be personalized per subscriber.
Calendar apps will automatically adjust the time to the subscriber’s local timezone.
It’s not possible to track whether a subscriber saves the event to their calendar.
