Abandoned cart automations are not a list growth tool, but rather are a way to re-engage high-intent subscribers after they abandon their cart.
Text messages from an abandoned cart automation are sent to subscribers who have compliantly opted in to your store's SMS program before abandoning their cart. Learn more about how to convert site visitors into subscribers here.
This is required for all cart recovery automations (e.g. Abandoned Cart, Browse Abandonment, Product Added to Cart, etc.).
Once the subscriber has explicitly and compliantly agreed to receive your brand's marketing SMS messages, abandoned cart automation messages will begin sending after a subscriber:
- Adds items to their cart
- Navigates to checkout
- Enters their information into the Shipping page (including their phone number)
- Abandons checkout
