Set Up Your Address Guard Integration

Postscript integrates with Address Guard, allowing brands to alert customers of issues with their shipping address via a direct text message. This method ensures customers can react to order issues quickly and easily via SMS automations.

Create a Postscript API Key

  1. Select your Shop Name in the side menu of your Postscript dashboard, then select API.
  2. Select Create Security Key Pair on the right side of the page, then confirm your action by selecting Yes.
  3. Add a label to your API key so you can track where this API key is being used.
  4. Select Show in the Private Key column to reveal your API key. Copy this key or write it down—you'll need to enter it in Rep later.

Configure Postscript in Address Guard

  1. In your Address Guard account, select General Settings from the left-hand menu, then select Integrations, then select Postscript.
  2. Enter your Private API key from your Postscript account, then select Connect.

After seeing the success message, the connection should be marked as Connected. The final step is creating an Automation flow within Postscript.

Set Up an Automation


This automation alerts customers via SMS when their order is marked as having an undeliverable address. The message will include a link to their order's address form so they can update the address.

  1. From the Postscript dashboard, select Messaging and then select Automations.
  2. Select the Create Automation button and then select the Create an Automation Flow button in the popup.
  3. Under Automation properties, select Invalid Shipping Address from the Trigger event or property drop-down list.
  4. Close the properties view and under Actions on the left, select the Message tile. Drag and drop it beneath the Automation properties tile in the Automation flow builder. 
  5. Select the Message tile in the Automation flow builder and edit the text of the message. Select the Merge tags icon beneath the text input box to add information such as the customer's name, order ID, or the link to the address form.
