Set Up Your rediem Integration

rediem is a loyalty platform that enables merchants to engage with customers in multiple ways, selecting from a menu of custom actions designed to reward customers and build community.​

Integrating rediem with Postscript lets merchants:

  • Sync rediem rewards program member information with Postscript
  • Send rediem reward program texts directly from Poscript
  • Segment campaign lists based on rediem rewards program information
  • Manage personalized information for each customer in a rediem rewards program
  • Build custom flows using rediem program events, such as earning or redeeming points

In this article, we'll walk you through how to configure the integration, explain which properties and events rediem sends to Postscript, set up SMS-based actions in rediem, and create keywords in Postscript with webhook URLs to pass information to rediem from Postscript.

Create a Postscript API Key

  1. Select your Shop Name in the side menu of your Postscript dashboard, then select API.
  2. Select Create Security Key Pair on the right side of the page, then confirm your action by selecting Yes.
  3. Add a label to your API key so you can track where this API key is being used.
  4. Select Show in the Private Key column to reveal your API key. Copy this key or write it down—you'll need to enter it in Rivo later.

Configure Postscript in rediem


In rediem, select Integrations from the left menu. Next, select the Add New Integration button in the upper right and then select Postscript from the drop-down menu.

Paste the API key from Postscript into the Api Key field, then select Validate.

Note: All rediem customer records are added to Postscript as part of this process.

rediem Events and Properties Sent to Postscript


After completing the rediem-Postscript integration, rediem automatically sends reward program events to Postscript. These values are continuously updated in Postscript based on any rediem rewards program activity, which can be used to create segments or add reward information to SMS campaigns.

rediem_point_balance Customer's current available, currently usable, points balance
rediem_last_action_points Points added for most recent action taken
rediem_last_action_type Most recent action taken (i.e. "Liked on Instagram")
rediem_last_reward_type The type of last customer reward

rediem_date_last_reward Date of the last reward redemption

rediem_spend_to_next_tier Amount customer must spend to reach the next tier (property value includes the currency the customer used at purchase)
rediem_has_account True/False depending on customer account creation status (state enabled)
rediem_loyalty_member True/false depending on customer loyalty membership status
rediem_member_since Date customer opted into loyalty program
rediem_created_date Customer create date
rediem_profile_sequence_started Yes/No depending on whether profile sequence began
rediem_profile_sequence_completed Yes/No depending on whether profile sequence finished
rediem_loyalty_interactions Total number of loyalty actions taken excluding sign-up, purchases, or redemptions

Create a SMS-based Action in rediem


Merchants can increase SMS opt-ins by offering points or rewards for texting the merchant a specific keyword.

In rediem, select Program from the left menu and then select Points. Next, select the Add Ways to Earn button in the Ways To Earn section.

Select Postscript Action from the Basic Actions options.

Enter an Action Title, Short Description, Description, and Keyword

   Important: Make sure the keyword doesn't include any spaces

 

Enter the text to display on the button in the CTA Button Text field, and then enter a URL in the Button Link field using the instructions below. Including the merchant phone number and keyword in the link reduces input errors. 

Step-by-Step Guide to Create an SMS URL Link

  1. Start with a href link: <a href=""> </a>
  2. Enter "sms:" into the URL section of the href link scheme: <a href="sms:"> </a>
  3. Enter the CallAction number with international +1 format: <a href="sms:+15555551234"> </a>
  4. Enter the call to action text in the displayed link text: <a href="sms:+15555551234">Click Here!</a>

Finally, select the Also show button link as QR code checkbox to reduce friction and simplify the process for desktop users.

Create a Corresponding Keyword in Postscript

In Postcript, select Acquisition from the left-hand menu, then select Keywords. Select the Create Keyword button in the upper right.

   IMPORTANT: The keyword should be identical to the corresponding keyword in rediem.

Select the Add Action button, then select the HTTP Request tile. Enter the Webhook URL from rediem in the URL field and select the Save Action button. 

The Webhook URL can be copied from the rediem backend.
