Set Up Your Tie Integration

Tie (formerly Revenue Roll) provides merchants with names, email addresses, advertising IDs, and demographic attributes of site visitors. By integrating Tie with Postscript, merchants can create deeper engagement flows and automation based on event triggers.

How a Tie Integration Benefits You

  • Trigger real-time SMS automations based on actual storefront behavior
  • Tailor messages using page views, cart activity, and product interest
  • Measure and report on message-level attribution, including CTR, EPM, and Orders
  • Build audience segments based on behavioral data

Create a Postscript API Key

  1. Select your Shop Name in the side menu of your Postscript dashboard, then select API.
  2. Select Create Security Key Pair on the right side of the page, then confirm your action by selecting Yes.
  3. Add a label to your API key so you can track where this API key is being used.
  4. Select Show in the Private Key column to reveal your API key. Copy this key or write it down—you'll need to share it with the Tie team later.

Tie Trigger Events

Postscript automations can use any of these three Tie events as triggers:

Event Description
revroll_page_view When a shopper views a page on a merchant's site
revroll_view_item

When a shopper views an item on a merchant's site

revroll_add_to_cart

When a shopper adds an item from a merchant's site to their cart

Using a Tie Trigger Event in a Postscript Automation

To use a Tie trigger event in a Postscript automation, select Messaging, and then Campaigns from the left menu, and then select the Create Automation button in the upper right. Next, select Create new automation and then select the Create flow button.

Search for the trigger under Trigger event or property on the left for the Tie event to trigger this automation.

Safety & Compliance

Tie and Postscript both observe shopper consent boundaries to prevent unsolicited messages and ensure ethical and legal usage of event data.

  • Tie only sends data to Postscript that includes email addresses matched to known contacts.
  • Postscript only sends SMS messages to shoppers who have explicitly opted in.
