International FAQ

At Postscript, we adhere to the TCPA regulations no matter what country you're sending your texts to. That's because the TCPA guidelines effectively cover all countries' guidelines, ensuring that your shop assumes the least amount of risk possible. (Learn more about TCPA compliance here!)

While Postscript is optimized to send to the US & Canada, many of our users have successful SMS marketing plans in the UK and Australia! (If you'd like to test our app for any other countries, please feel free to. We just aren't able to guarantee deliverability because of the numerous carriers and the restrictions that they set forth.)

Also note that all international sends are from long codes. Any keyword opt-ins need to be sent to our International long-code 1-720-605-1331.

Because of the numerous carrier restrictions, we are unable to send any MMS text outside of the US & Canada. If you send a text with an image attached to an international number, the image/gif will be stripped.

Our platform is only able to work through the standard texting app on a subscriber's phone. Unfortunately, we are not compatible with WhatsApp at this time.

Each text that is sent from Postscript goes through the carriers - who charge our platform for the send. Because of the cost to us, our Cost Per Credit is different from texts sent domestically. An SMS to an international number is 10 credits per send. (If you would like an idea of the cost of that send, check out this article.)

When collecting international phone numbers, you'll need to also collect their country code. If you are using our shareable link, you'll want to make reference to them using their country code. Alternatively, you can integrate with a 3rd party app that we integrate with such as Privy or Justuno who has country code dropdown options available on their forms!

Please bear in mind that with all of the different carriers in all of the different countries, it's possible to run into issues. There are some deliverability issues that we are unable to troubleshoot or fix simply because the carrier is unable to deliver the text.

If you are sending 100% internationally, reach out to our Customer Service team to chat about options for tailoring sends to those timezones.

International SMS Marketing is certainly possible, but this guideline should help you decide where to start & what to expect.

As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to us in chat!
