Create a Postscript API Key


  1. Select your Shop Name in the side menu of your Postscript dashboard, then select API.

  2. Select Create Security Key Pair on the right side of the page, then confirm your action by selecting Yes.

  3. Add a label to your API key so you can track where this API key is being used.

  4. Select Show in the Private Key column to reveal your API key. Copy this key or write it down—you'll need to enter it in Okendo later.

Configure Postscript in Okendo


Once you have your private Postscript API key, you will need to enter it into Okendo's Postscript integration space.

  1. Select Settings in the bottom-left corner of your Okendo dashboard.

  2. From the Settings menu, select Integrations.

  3. Locate Postscript in the Email & SMS section and select the pencil icon.

  4. Copy your Private API Key in the space provided.

  5. Select Save.

Note: Okendo only syncs profile properties and events data for existing Postscript subscribers. Okendo does not create new subscriber records or sync this data for any Okendo customer who does not already have a Postscript subscriber record

The expiry date of the customer's VIP tier status.

Okendo event types and properties

Review Created

When a customer submits a review via Okendo, a custom event is logged in Postscript. This event includes the following properties:

Coupon Code

The code for a discount coupon, if present

Coupon Description

A description of the discount coupon, if present

Is Recommended

Does the reviewer recommend the product (Yes/N)

The language in which the review is written

Review Request Created

When a fulfilled order meets review recruitment requiremends, Okena creates a review request with the following properties:

Submitted Okendo Quiz

When a customer completes an Okendo quiz, Okendo creates a Submitted Okendo Quiz event with the following properties:

Received Okendo Referral Coupon

When a referral coupon is issued, Okendo creates a Received Okendo Referral Coupon event with the following properties:

The date when the coupon was received.

The role of the customer (e.g., referrer or recipient).

When an Okendo referral coupon is redeemed, Okendo creates a Redeemed Okendo Referral Coupon event with the following properties:

When a referrer opts into a referral program, Okendo creates a Opted In to Okendo event with the following properties:

When an anonymous recipient shares their details after selecting a shared referral link, Okendo creates a Okendo Referral Shareable Link Used event with the following properties:

When a referral is rejected, Okendo creates an Okendo Referral Rejected event with the following properties:

When a customer's loyalty tier changes, Okendo creates an Okendo Loyalty Tier Changed event with the following properties:

The previous tier of the customer.

New Tier

The new tier of the customer.

Earning Period End

The end date of the earning period for the new tier.

Is Tier Upgrade

Indicates whether the change is an upgrade.

Okendo Loyalty Points Adjusted

When a customer's loyalty points are adjusted by a merchant, Okendo creates an Okendo Loyalty Points Adjusted event with the following properties:

Unique ID assigned to the event.

Date

Recorded date of event.

Adjusted Amount

The amount by which the points were adjusted.

Adjusted Description

A description of the adjustment.

Okendo Loyalty Tier Upgrade Nudge

When a customer has reached 80% or more of the necessary spend required to reach the next loyalty tier, the customer is sent a nudge and Okendo creates an Okendo Loyalty Tier Upgrade Nudge event with the following properties:

Current Tier

The current loyalty tier of the customer before the upgrade.

Next Tier

The next loyalty tier that the customer is being nudged to upgrade to.

Spend To Upgrade Tier

The amount the customer needs to spend to reach the next tier.

If the eligibility period is 'lifetime', the following property is included:

All Time Spend

The total amount the customer has spent over their lifetime.

If the eligibility period is a specific time window, the following properties are included:

The amount spent by the customer within the current upgrade window.

Submitted Okendo Survey

When a survey response it submitted, Okendo creates a Submitted Okendo Survey event with the following properties:

The name of the survey that the customer completed.

Email Address

The email address provided by the customer.

First Name

The first name of the customer.

Last Name

The last name of the customer.

Survey Questions and Answers

Additional properties containing questions from the survey and the corresponding answers provided by the customer.

If rewardType is "coupon":

A description of the coupon awarded.

Coupon Code

The code for the coupon awarded to the customer.

If rewardType is "loyalty":

The event ID associated with the loyalty reward, if applicable.

Review Request Cancelled

When a customer cancels a review request, Okendo creates a Review Request Cancelled event with the following properties:

Update Customer Profile

When there is a customer profile update, Okendo creates an Update Customer Profile event (no properties are sent).

Using Okendo Profile Properties and Events Data in Postscript


Merchants can leverage Okendo profile properties and events data to reach subscribers at key moments in their customer journey. These personalized, targeted messages can create urgency, drive desired behaviors, and create a higher-touch shopping experience.

Merchants can also create use profile properties to create segments for different campaign flows and campaigns.

Tip: Make the most out of the Okendo integration by using automation flows instead of legacy automations.

Create an Okendo Automation in Postscript


Once you have successfully connected Postscript and Okendo, you can create a Postscript automation using an Okendo trigger.

  1. Select Messaging in the side menu of your Postscript dashboard, then select Automations.

  2. In the top-right corner of the page, select Create Automation, then choose Create Legacy Automation. Since you are creating this automation from scratch, select Custom Automation.

  3. Select Okendo Review Request from the Automation Trigger drop-down list.

  4. Select Save & Continue to Messages.

  5. To add a review link, select the More drop-down button above the message field, then select Add Tag.

  6. From the drop-down list, select Review Url.

  7. Make sure your typing cursor is where you want the tag placed, then select Insert Tag. The {review_url} tag should appear in your message.

  8. Select Save Automation in the bottom-right corner of the page.

  9. Last, select the Enabled toggle so it changes to blue.

Note: Both Postscript and Okendo offer a Wait option. You can use either to set up the waiting period between the customer's order being fulfilled or delivered and the review request being sent, but be careful about using both, as the customer could wait twice as long as expected before receiving their SMS.

Create a Postscript Sequence in Okendo


An Okendo sequence sends notification of a fulfilled or delivered order to Postscript, triggering a review request automation message for subscribers who have opted-in.

  1. Select Mail in the side menu of your Okendo dashboard, then select Sequences.

  2. Scroll down to the integration section and select Postscript. Then, select Get Started.

  3. Select the Wait component, then define your wait criteria in the side panel. You can choose to wait a certain amount of days after an item fulfillment or delivery.

  4. Save your changes, then select the Start button in the top-left corner of the page.
